Thumbs Up for a Life Lived Well

Thumbs Up for a Life Lived Well

As you should know, Roger Ebert passed away yesterday. It is a loss for all movie fans, lovers of great writing, and any who take passion in the good things in life.

“We are put on this planet only once, and to limit ourselves to the familiar is a crime against our minds.”

I have always been the type of media junkie that is always looking for the next good buzz, be it a great book, movie, piece of music, or blog. Yeah, the familiar is comforting and I am not averse in sinking into the pleasure of something I know all too well. But if you’re like Roger, and I hope I am somewhat, you’re always looking for the next thing to be passionate about, whether it’s a simple popcorn movie with a heart of gold, or just a new recipe that brings a smile to your spouse’s face.

Live your life with passion and a search for the next great thing. Love the people around you and treat them with kindness. These are the things that make life worth living and Roger Ebert knew that as well as anyone.

R.I.P.
