Still Thick, Still A Brick

I’m playing this disc today while writing and while Ian is obviously not breaking new ground here, it’s not an unwelcome sequel either. The musicians play with authority and passion, Ian is still as sarcastic and biting as ever, and his oft-criticized voice sounds fine. Perhaps this is because he’s written it for his now reduced range and in a studio is not straining through a two hour show. But Tull fans should rejoice in this. The old dog may be showing off an old trick, but he performs it well.
