The Calm After the Storm

We were HAMMERED by a major storm last night. It was a fearful sight, high winds and golf ball size hail. It took out the screens in the living room and dining room windows. What you are seeing in the video is what it looked like after the hail had ceased. My wife had just came back upstairs and after being reassured by me that the worst was over, an announcement that our part of the county was under a tornado watch. My wife inherited her mother’s abiding fear of storms but that high soprano voice is all her own.

I’ll call the insurance office today and tell them to get an adjuster to look at the roof and the siding. While neither got shredded like a lot of homes and trailers in the area, it is likely we sustained some damage. The crops out at the farm are likely a complete loss. But we survived, we never lost power, the animals are all OK, we still have a roof over our heads. That’s all you can hope for after a storm like this.
