This driveway was bare and dry yesterday. Today it’s a different story. We’ve got this snowfall and a wind chill of four above. I fortified myself with some hot cereal before venturing out to shovel this out. It seemed like the right thing to do.
The forecast for the next ten days indicates that we’ll have several days above freezing next week so it’s a 50/50 chance of this stuff sticking around. Because of El Nino we’re supposed to have a moderate winter, with less snow and warmer temperatures. Then again, given the severity of this El Nino, it could easily turn the other way. Either way, we’re ready.
Daniel was the only one of the cats ventured out today when I let the dogs out. Pippin was a little taken aback by the white stuff but Merry had such a full bladder that she didn’t even react to it. She was all about peeing. Daniel was just angry. He stomped back and forth on the deck and then demanded to be let back in. Then he went back to his wool blanket in the living room where he dreams of warmer weather. I suspect we’ll all be doing that for the next four or five months.
