Home alone

Carjo is at a slumber party tonight with her girlfriends. They will eat Indian food and cheesecake bites, watch chick flicks, and then crash. It’s a risk for her – she has not been sleeping well for quite a while due to a few different issues and she never does well away from home.

Usually when she’s gone I’m ready to take advantage of it. I play my music loud, have baseball on TV, have a beer or two. But today was a stressful day for a Saturday (money issues) and even though I am cranking up the stereo now it is a half-hearted effort at best. It took me a couple hours to really get cracking on the chapter I am rewriting and the words aren’t coming well at all. It just seems rather empty without her around tonight and it’s a disturbing insight into how life would be without her around.
